I joined the Maidens of Mischief because these lovely women are passionate about being an inclusive, transparent, supportive and fun women's Mardi Gras Krewe. The MoM's actively and diversely support our community — where there's a need or a request, our strong, fun, caring Maidens of Mischief Krewe will actively consider how to meet it. The overwhelming sense is one of wanting all the members to be included — that their voices are heard, their ideas are desired, and that whether it's “work” or an event — let's have fun!

I'm so, so happy I listened to my gut and joined.

What I love most about being a Maiden of Mischief is the people. After moving to Orange Beach, it gave me a built-in sisterhood — full of women who know how to show up, have fun, and support each other. It turned a new place into home pretty quickly.

My favorite memory is my first parade — pure chaos, lots of laughs, and me figuring out how to throw beads like I knew what I was doing.

Another favorite is handing out water at the Flora-Bama Mullet Toss — getting splashed, laughing at our signs, cheering everyone on, and definitely earning a sunburn.

There's a certain spark that comes with being a Maiden of Mischief — something you feel instantly, but can't quite put into words until you've lived it.

It's the freedom to be bold, to laugh loudly, to lean into the unexpected and find joy in the moments most people overlook. It's knowing that here, you don't have to tone yourself down or fit into anyone else's idea of who you should be. You get to show up as your full, vibrant self — and that's exactly what makes you belong.

Being a Maiden of Mischief isn't about causing chaos for the sake of it. It's about curiosity, creativity, and connection. It's about turning the ordinary into something unforgettable, finding humor where others might not, and embracing the kind of energy that makes life feel bigger, brighter, and more alive.

But what truly makes it special is the bond we share. Beneath the wit and the playfulness is something deeper — support, trust, and a genuine sense of sisterhood. We celebrate each other, we stand by each other, and we create a space where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered.

This isn't just a group. It's a feeling. A mindset. A little bit of magic.

And that's why I love being a Maiden of Mischief.
