Three decades on, we remain a small society on purpose: one hundred Maidens, sworn to one another in candlelight, sworn to mischief done with intention.
We carry the old Mobile carnival traditions — the bead-stringing, the king-cake oath, the parade behind the courthouse — and we quietly invent new ones.
